Canada’s Pilot Immigration Programs are designed to address specific regional and sectoral labour shortages by offering targeted pathways to permanent residence. These programs support smaller communities, emerging industries, and regions that require skilled workers to sustain economic growth. Pilot programs often provide more flexible eligibility criteria compared to broader federal programs.

AIP: The Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) helps employers in Canada’s Atlantic provinces—Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador—hire skilled workers and international graduates. The program focuses on long-term settlement and requires a job offer from a designated employer along with a settlement plan.

RCIP: The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) supports labour market needs in participating rural communities across Canada. Candidates must secure a job offer from an approved employer within a designated community and demonstrate an intention to live and work there.

FCIP: The Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP) aims to strengthen French-speaking communities outside Quebec. It targets French-speaking skilled workers and encourages linguistic diversity in smaller regions through employment-based pathways.

CGIP: The Caregiver Immigration Program (CGIP) provides pathways for qualified caregivers who have experience providing care for children, seniors, or individuals with medical needs. It allows eligible applicants to apply for permanent residence based on Canadian work experience and program-specific requirements.
